The latest smart devices are constantly checking for and downloading updates to apps, syncing your photo’s to the cloud and performing many other high data usage tasks. To make the most of the data you have available whilst travelling, we recommend you adjust the settings on your smart devices to reduce it’s data usage on the Wi-Fi network which is connected to our SIM.

For Apple iPhone/iPad’s running iOS/iPadOS 13+, open the Settings app > Wi-Fi > select your the Wi-Fi network and enable “Low Data Mode”

For Android devices running v9+, open the Settings app > Network & Internet > select your Wi-Fi network > Advanced > Network Usage and enable “Treat as metered”

For Windows 10 laptops, Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks. Select your Wi-Fi network > Properties > turn on “Set as metered connection”

By default our monthly data plans are limited to 3Mbps – this is plenty for browsing the web, email, video chat etc. Importantly it limits streaming services like Netflix to only be able to use standard definition, thus allowing 4x longer viewing for the same amount of data.

Given that whilst travelling most people are only viewing on a small screen or TV, HD quality is not required like on a larger screen at home. You can also adjust the settings in your streaming app and select the lower quality/data usage option if you wish.

Our aim is to offer reliable internet wherever you are and at a reasonable cost, not to offer the fastest possible speeds. Just like when you are travelling you have to think about how much water and electric you use, you just need to be a bit aware of your data usage as well. If you wish to have unlimited speed, you can select this option when you add a data bundle bolt on, please note however that you are responsible for how fast you use it up!

As standard, our plans include either 2GB or 6GB data allowance each month with no roll over.

At BroadbandGo, we believe that you should only pay for the data you actually need. The small amount of inclusive monthly data is designed to allow for basic email and web browsing for a weekend or two – if you are way for longer or want to stream TV then you can add a data bolt on as you need.

Given the seasonal nature of the industry we give you the flexibility of selecting Data Bolt Ons to suit your needs. Providing you with more data, and the savings that come with it.

To use our service you will need a mobile router, often called a MiFi.

This will all you to connect 10 (or more, depending on the model) devices like laptops, phones, tablets, firesticks to the WiFi in your vehicle. The SIM we supply is put in the MiFi to provide the internet access.

Our partner www.motorhomewifi.com can supply the MiFi and antenna kits.
